Aftercare
What to Do:
Keep the wrap on overnight. The first time you wash your tattoo after removing the wrap is the most critical part of the healing process. Use a mild soap that is free of heavy fragrances or dyes.
Lather and rinse the tattoo several times, until absolutely no sliminess or shiny spots remain on the skin. Certain areas of the tattoo will need extra washing to achieve this result. When finished, pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel.
With clean hands, apply the smallest amount of an approved ointment. Rub it in carefully.
Wash your tattoo twice a day for the first few days, and apply ointment directly after washing. In 3–5 days your tattoo will peel like a sunburn. When this happens, you can wash your tattoo once a day and apply a small amount of fragrance-free lotion if it feels dry or itchy.
Keep your tattoo out of the sun and tanning booths while healing. Apply sunblock to your tattoo once it is healed.
